After cancer treatment, some caregivers notice that they have trouble setting limits and having their child follow rules again. They may find that they feel guilt over what their child has gone through. You may have found yourself being more lax than normal. You may have had a different set of priorities to make sure your child was as comfortable and happy as possible.
Still, it is important to learn how to give helpful directions to set your child up for success and so they learn to follow rules at school, in sports, and beyond! Children also thrive when they know what to expect through routines, structure, and rules.
In this session, we will cover:
Giving clear directions
Keeping directions to a minimum
Using your attention to reinforce positive behaviors
